Frequently asked questions
How do I add someone who doesn’t have the app?
Just add them to a group by name — they don’t need an account. When they join later with a code, their history is waiting.
How do I invite people to a group?
Open the group → Add People → share the 6-digit code (or tap “Share invite”). They enter it under “Join with a code”.
How are balances calculated?
Divio adds up what each person paid minus what they owe, then suggests the fewest payments needed for everyone to settle up.
How do I split unequally?
When adding an expense, choose Equal, Shares, %, or Exact amounts. Divio rounds so the parts always add up to the total.
What happens to my receipt photos?
They’re kept privately and shown only through short-lived secure links. For your privacy they’re automatically deleted after 30 days, and you can delete them sooner.
How do I remove a group?
Long-press the group on your list (or use the ⋯ menu in the group). If you own it you’ll see Delete group (recoverable for 7 days); if you’re a member you’ll see Leave group.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Delete Account. This removes your profile and personal data. Shared history other members depend on may be kept in anonymised form so their balances stay correct.
Is my data private?
Yes. Divio has no ads and no tracking, your data is protected by row-level security, and we never sell it. See our Privacy Policy.
